Editors and Agents
|Kate Richards is an author, editor, and co-owner of Wizards in Publishing and Decadent Publishing. After working at several publishing companies, Kate came onboard at Decadent Publishing before the doors opened and has been there ever since. When the opportunity arose to take the helm, along with Valerie Mann, it seemed the next logical step.
Decadent Publishing is currently looking for all genres of romance, and our editors are interested in seeing more MM and shifter romances. 1Night Stand, Black Hills Wolves, and The Wiccan Haus series are open to new submissions. We are currently in the process of releasing many of our new and old titles in audio, which is receiving great reader feedback.
Kate lives in Southern California with her pair of geriatric huskies, gang of cats and a parrot. Also a very tolerant and charming husband who occasionally manages to sneak her away to the gorgeous High Sierras to remember what romance is really about.
|Nicole has been listed by Publisher's Marketplace as a top dealmaker in the country, and named ACFW's 2012 Agent of the Year.
She loves discovering new talent and helping established authors to take their career to the next level. Do you have the next project to feed her book addiction? A smart, tight read she won’t be able to put down? A signature voice she’ll fight to represent?
HEA’s are a must for romance. Mainstream suspense, thrillers, mysteries, YA and inspirational novels are welcome. A consummate science geek and card-carrying Mensa member, Nicole would love to find the next great science fiction/fantasy novel or action/adventure masterpiece.
Currently on her wish list high concept middle grade, any kind of romance, and really fresh voices in YA.
Nicole is a member of AAR, ACFW, RWA, and Mensa. She holds degrees in biology, psychology, and behavioral neuroscience. Like Mary Sue, Nicole taught in the public school system and has worn many hats before heeding her calling to become a literary agent--for which she will forever be indebted to Mary Sue Seymour.
"I have the best job in the world. I read for a living and make author's dreams come true."
Editor, Carina Press
While pursuing a degree in public health, Libby realized her love for writing and books was far greater than her love for keeping people germ-free, so she picked up a minor in writing. After graduation she worked as an editor and managing editor for Entangled Publishing. She currently acquires and edits romance for Harlequin’s digital-first imprint, Carina Press. She’s had the pleasure of editing several award-winning, NYT and USA TODAY bestselling authors, but gets a huge thrill out of finding an amazing debut author in the slush pile.
She is actively acquiring across several genres, and is on the lookout for a killer voice and fun, emotional reads. Particularly, she loves contemporary romance, romantic suspense, cozy mysteries, historical romance (Regency, Highlanders, and Medieval), urban fantasy, and paranormal romance. And in all of those categories she would like to see adult, new adult, higher heat levels (super-hot to erotic romance), humor, high-concept plots, and series potential.
