Every reader and every writer can name at least one or more (it’s not cheating if they’re from different books) character they’d love to date, smooch, shag, and/or marry. We’re going to work in teams to build the “perfect” Romance Novel Mate and use our work as inspiration for our writing.



Crafts  - cutting, gluing, drawing

Write-craft - how to bring romance heroes to life from their very first scene

Community - time to write, chat, dish, and play



Magazines, newspapers, photos from the internet

Scissors, tape, glue sticks, markers

The book(s) that star(s) your very favorite leading person!

"Making your Good Stories Great: Structuring and Shaping a Great Romance."

Dr. Linda Seger is the author of nine books on screenwriting including the classic, Making a Good Script Great. One of the world’s foremost script consultants and story coaches, Linda has consulted on more than 100 produced feature films, television shows, and plays. Her clients, including Peter Jackson and William Kelley, have won numerous honors, including the Academy Award. Film director Ron Howard wrote: “Making a Good Script Great has informed all my movies beginning with Apollo 13.” The late screenwriter and novelist Ray Bradbury described Linda’s technique as ‘a light to see by’.




Literary Agent Elise Erickson Elise Erickson

Elise Erickson is a new literary agent at prestigious Harold Ober Associates. She previously interned at two literary agencies and at Penguin’s New American Library imprint. She is a firm believer in the importance of fit between authors and agents. Her experience in subsidiary rights (foreign, film and television) informs her view about the need for agent representation among authors. Elise loves Romance, and she is committed to the genre.

Melissa Endlich is senior editor for Harlequin’s Love Inspired Books. She has been with Harlequin for 17 years. Her passions include books, baking, ballet, tennis, movies and TV. And Hugh Jackman! She also likes Amish romance, contemporary/ historical/ romantic suspense. Love Inspired features strong contemporary romances with a Christian worldview and wholesome values.



Wild Rose Press Senior Editor Lori GrahamLori Graham

Lori is the Senior Editor of Crimson Rose, Mainstream Mystery, and Mainstream Thriller at Wild Rose Press. While these lines are her first love, she also edits for some of the other genres included within Wild Rose. She has worked in the garden since 2006 and is excited by the work they do to help promote new authors.

She lives in North Denver with her husband and son and surrounds herself with the most lovely family and friends imaginable. When not writing or plotting new books, Colleen can be found swimming, traveling or totally immersing herself in nerdy pop culture. She currently at work on a standalone novel and another YA fairytale series.


Molly and Aspen Gold Contests Open
