Anita Gordon is an historical romance author and the recipient of numerous awards including Romance Writers of America's Golden Heart Award for her tenth century medieval titled The Valiant Heart. VALIANT sold on a partial to Berkley and, on its release, hit the romance and mass market bestsellers lists, then went into three printings. The sequel,
The Defiant Heart, joined VALIANT on the bestsellers lists. The final book in the 'Heart' trilogy,
The Captive Heart, was released in September of 1995.
Her book A Slip In Time, written under the pseudonym Kathleen Kirkwood, was released in October of '98. And Shades Of The Past is an October '99 release from Signet.
Anita attended the University of Arizona (Tucson) where she earned a degree in Art History and met her husband, Mark. She began masters level work in History and Humanities and taught at the community college level. These pursuits were happily interrupted by several surprise bundles of joy and hubby's job move that took her and her family to Iceland. There, her interest in Vikings was fired which ultimately inspired the Heart trilogy. Long involved in theatre, Anita also acted in community theatre both stateside and overseas and, during this time, wrote two children's plays, both of which have been produced.
Anita currently lives in Parker, Colorado.
